LOCAL PRODUCE
The region is not only about amazing winter and summer sporting facilities and wonderful countryside, Haut Savoie boasts lots of local produce made on the farms throughout the valleys. The most notable are the local cheeses. With the village of Abondance nearby, this variety is definitely the best, however, there are close rivals available at the weekly market, where local producers sell their Beaufort, Comte, Tomme and Reblochon cheeses. There are also many varieties of cured sausage for sale; Girolles, Noisettes, Sanglier. Low fat, low fat salt diet out of the window, surely this is almost a Mediterranean diet!

REAL ALE
If the fromage and saucissons are not enough to tempt you, then Morzine and Montriond also has two micro-breweries. The Bec-Jaune makes and serves their ales in a quirky bar at the edge of Morzine and Ibex brewery distributes throughout the Portes du Soleil valleys to great local bars such as Marmotte D’Or in Montriond.
