Boutique Alps Chalet…

In the design, renovation and creation of our boutique alps chalet we hoped to create a luxurious home from home for our guests and for us   Here’s a potted history of how we came to be here…

After renovating several houses in the UK, in our spare time from challenging innovation management roles, our love of the outdoors, passion for travel and desire to spend time in inspiring environments (inside & out) led us to start our own travel business with the emphasis on hand-picked places to stay and bespoke service.

Sheepskin, a deliberately small and exclusive collection of self-catering holiday homes in the UK, started as an idea scribbled in my travel journal sitting under a tree watching the sunset in the pampas in Argentina.  Within a year we had launched with 6 unique cottages each of which we had worked with their owners to ensure they were all comfortable and inspiring places to stay.

Six years on Sheepskin had over 30 unique properties throughout the UK, an ever growing database of guests and an enthusiastic team in the Cotswolds.  Seven years on Sheepskin was acquired by one of the largest companies in the UK travel industry and continues to grow.

In the meantime Adam and I have continued to travel, (we write a travel journal too) and our enthusiasm for the outdoors increased, particularly for the alps with snow-boarding in the winter and hiking in the summer.

As we completed our last home/project in Oxford the lure of the alps and a chance glance in an estate agents window in Morzine brought us here…

In renovating a traditional ancient french barn in Montriond to be our home and luxurious holiday accommodation for our guests, we know it is not easy to find a ’boutique alps chalet’ particularly for a couple or small group so, when we launched for winter 2016/17 we aimed to fill that gap in the Portes du Soleil.
